Secret Garden In Color Card

Hello! I'm really excited for the new Stampin' Up! catalog to go live tomorrow. This afternoon I combined one of my favorite stamp sets, Secret Garden, with the new 2013-2015 In Colors. The layout for this Secret Garden In Color Card design is from the Techno Stamper sketch challenge. The main focal space was perfect for this floral arrangement. I added a few rhinestones and some dazzling details to the center of the flowers for a little sparkle. Thanks for stopping by!

Yellow Bird Card

Good afternoon! There are barely two days left to order from the Spring Stampin' Up! catalog. This Yellow Bird Card was made using the Sunshine & Sprinkles dsp, from the Spring catalog, and the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set. The Betsy's Blossom stamp set is being carried over into the new 2013-2014 catalog, but the Sunshine & Sprinkles dsp will only be available until May 31st. I love the bright colors in this collection!  So, I figured I better give you a good example of what you can do with it. To create this card I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps. I was a little rebellious and I didn't use a sentiment. I decided it needed a cute yellow bird instead. The postage stamp punch was the perfect size to punch out the flowers and I fussy cut the bird and leafy twig. Well, I hope you like it and have a great day!!!

Patterned Paper Card

Hello! I have a confession.... I'm a patterned paper junkie!!! I buy way more than I'll ever use and some patterns are "too pretty" that I purposely don't use them. This weeks sketch at The Paper Players designed by LeAnne Pugliese is perfect for using scraps of patterned paper.  I've used the Family Ties patterned paper collection by Pebbles. The colors are happy and coordinate with Stampin' Up! card stock colors in Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze, and Pear Pizzazz. To create this Patterned Paper Card I measured and cut all my pieces, stamped the flourish & sentiment and then taped the pieces together. I then adhered to Daffodil Delight card stock and stitched the layers together. I stamped and punched the Boho Blossoms and adhered with dimensionals and then added the punched Bitty Butterfly. A few pearls to finish it off and this card was done!

This afternoon I was bored... and cleaning the house was not on my agenda, so I made another version of my Patterned Paper Card. I used patterned paper from the Party Collection by Pebbles. The colors are nice, bright and perfect for summertime creations. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps and I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits by Stampin' Up! for the butterfly. It's fun to see how different a card can look by using different colors. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Hello Card

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! This morning I planted a flat of petunias in my front flower bed. Then I spent some time in my craft room creating this Hello Card. I used the BINGO challenge at Simply Create Too for the design elements of my card. I used the "I" row which called for: Green, Banner, Gems, Embossing and Circles.  I heat embossed the Lacy & Lovely circles by Stampin' Up! with Gumball Green and used Black and Melon Mambo as accent colors. The green patterned paper is from the Amy Tangerine collection by American Crafts and the sentiment stamp is from TPC Studios. The design is simple but I really love the bright green with the black contrast. Thanks for stopping by!

Colorful Butterfly Card

I love butterflies, they just make me happy! Each week at Flutter By Wednesday's they have a challenge to use a Butterfly or a Fairy on your card creations. This week they also have a sketch to follow designed by Kathy Curry. The sketch is for a square card and it's been awhile since I've made one, so I figured today was as good as any. This Colorful Butterfly Card features the Daisy Butterflies digital image by Meljen's Designs. I used many different colors of Copic markers to color the image. The green strip of paper was sponged with Pistachio Pudding (a new In Color for Stampin' Up!, available May 31st) and then stamped the script with Garden Green. The striped patterned paper is from the Collectable "Memorable" collection by My Mind's Eye. Thanks for stopping by!

Balloon Monkey Birthday Card

Good evening! My hubby worked late tonight and I found a couple of challenges that I couldn't pass up, so I spent a little extra time in my craft room. I made this Balloon Monkey Birthday Card using the Seize the Birthday sketch and their sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps. The digital image I used is called Critter Balloons - Monkey by Bugaboo and I colored it with my Copic markers. I added some white puffy paint to the cloud for some dimension and sponged a light blue around the image. There were five challenges combined to create this Balloon Monkey Birthday Card:
The bingo challenge at Catch the Bug is always fun! I colored the balloon green for the starts with G, did a little sewing, and used a Bugaboo image. The patterned paper is from the Confetti collection by K & Company and the orange brads are from The Paper Studio. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment using the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set by Stampin' Up! Making cards for kids always puts a smile on my face, especially when it has a monkey party animal on it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope my card made you smile too.

Emboss Resist Swallowtail Card

Hello friends! Many of you know I'm from Oklahoma and our weather the last couple of days have been quite tragic. I wanted to let you know that my family is safe and everyone is accounted for. My brother and several relatives live in Moore where the large tornado hit but their homes weren't in the path of the destruction. I appreciate all your thoughts!

I have a quick post to share this Emboss Resist Swallowtail Card I made using the colors from this weeks Sunday Stamps challenge. The challenge colors are: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade. I have plenty of patterned paper in these colors but I decided to combine the color challenge with Cards in Envy and 'ABC' Challenges to stamp and create your own background. I stamped and embossed the Swallowtail onto white card stock and then sponged on Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight ink. I used a blender pen to add the Rich Razzleberry accents. My first idea was to stamp the sentiment onto a decorative label, but after I had it ready to adhere, I didn't like the way it looked. So, I stamped the sentiment directly onto my background paper. A few rhinestones to add a little bling and my Emboss Resist Swallowtail Card was complete. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Print Poetry Card

Hello! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. We celebrated a couple of birthdays with a trip to The Cheesecake Factory. Yum! I had the Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake, one of my favorites. It's always hard to decide which flavor to order, they all sound sooo good.

Now, onto my card....This Print Poetry Card was made using the Mojo Monday sketch designed by Julee Tilman. The Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack is available until May 31st when the Stampin' Up! Spring catalog expires. I love this paper and it coordinates with the the 2012-2014 In Colors. The sentiment is from the sale-a-bration Vintage Verses stamp set. When creating this card I chose the blue colour scheme to play along with Allsorts True Blue challenge and I'm entering this card in the anything goes challenge at 613 Avenue Create. Well, that about sums it up. I hope you have a terrific day and thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! 2013-2015 In Color Card

There are only 13 days left until we can start ordering from the New Stampin' Up! catalog! I've already made my list, well my first list of "must haves", and I'm really excited about the new 2013-2015 In Colors. If you haven't seen them yet, this card was made with the five new in colors:
  • Baked Brown Sugar
  • Coastal Cabana
  • Crisp Cantaloupe
  • Pistachio Pudding
  • Strawberry Slush
The colors are fresh, fun, and the hues are very uplifting. I made this Stampin' Up! 2013-2015 In Color Card for a couple of challenges. The cue word BLOOM is the challenge at CASology and I used the new pansy stamp from the Morning Meadow hostess stamp set. Perfect Sentiments challenge is Spring Thank Yous and the sentiment used is from the new Simply Sketched hostess stamp set. This weeks DL.ART Thankful Thursday challenge is a flower theme and the Sister Act Card challenge is always anything goes. Thanks for stopping by!

Floral Anniversary Card

Good morning! This week I have the privilege of being a guest designer for 'ABC' Challenges. The theme is Wedding or Anniversary Cards. I chose to make an anniversary card for my brother and his wife. Their anniversary is next week. When they got married their colours were red and black, so I took that into consideration when picking my colour scheme. I used Bravo Burgundy, Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, and Very Vanilla colours to create this Floral Anniversary Card. The rose, by Inkadinkado, was stamped on watercolor paper by Stampin' Up! and coloured in using a blender pen and classic stampin' pads in Bravo Burgundy, Primrose Petals, Garden Green, and Wild Wasabi. I did a little stitching, added a few pearls and some ribbon for detail. It ended up having a very classic look and it was a lot of fun to create. I hope you have time to play along with 'ABC' Challenges. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Friday!

Buttons & Butterflies Card

This morning I planted a flat of white petunias in my front flower bed next to my stella de oro daylilies. I love how petunias smell, and they just make me happy. When I ventured back inside I decided to make a card for a couple of my regular challenges. I knew I needed to use buttons & butterflies to participate at Flutter By Wednesday, Simon Says Stamp challenge is for flower power, and Charisma Cardz is NO Digis Allowed. With those three challenges in mind, I created this Buttons & Butterflies Card. I have to tell you that I love the Stampin' Up! colour Island Indigo! So much so, that I'm thinking about painting my front door and shutters with it. My hubby isn't as convinced but I think it would be a great change from the hunter green I have now. What do you think, should I go with Island Indigo??? Well... thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Buttons & Butterflies Card Supplies*:
  • Paper: Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, and Whisper White card stock and Sycamore Street dsp from sale-a-bration.
  • Stamps: Madison Avenue stamp set, Papillon Potpourri stamp set and Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pads in Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, and Pool Party.
  • Other Stuff: Sycamore Street buttons, Island Indigo twine, Bitty Butterfly punch, Bitty Banners framelits, Big Shot, and stampin' dimensionals.

Modern Happy Birthday Card

Good afternoon! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and Mother's Day. It seemed to go by way too fast and I really didn't get anything accomplished. This morning I was up early to play catch-up on laundry and I found some time to make this Modern Happy Birthday Card. I used the Lacy & Lovely stamp set and Chevron embossing folder both by Stampin' Up!. This week Dynamic Duos is having their one year anniversary celebration. You can pick any colour combo from their previous challenges. I picked Basic Black, Melon Mambo and Whisper White from their seventh challenge. I added a little bling and a few silver brads for detail and I heat embossed the sentiment.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Washi Tape Thank You Card

Hello! It's a beautiful Friday morning here in Oklahoma. The birds are singing and the sun is shining. I need to go outside and plant the a few things before they die in the pots I bought them in. But... before I do that, I want to share a sneak peek at this Washi Tape Thank You Card I made with the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape by Stampin' Up! It's new in the upcoming catalog release. The pansy flower and the sentiment are from the new hostess stamp set called Morning Meadow.

My intentions earlier this week was to make a card using the new Washi Tape, but I never got around to it. Last night, I decided to look up the current Retro Sketches challenge and their sketch was perfect for the idea I wanted to create. This Thank You Card has a casual feel but it still has plenty of colour. The pansy was stamped in Melon Mambo and then fussy cut (the new catalog has a coordinating punch). Melon Mambo is such a pretty bright colour. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and have a FABulous weekend!!!

Handmade Card for Dad

Good afternoon! This morning after I read a couple of challenges, I went straight to work making this Handmade Card for Dad. It could be used for Father's Day, Birthday or Just Because I decided to send my Dad a card. I LOVE my woodgrain embossing folder by Stampin' Up! and the challenge this week at Just Add Ink is to use woodgrain, challenge accepted! To decide the other elements of my card I combined the following challenges:
The design is a classic and simple layout, but I didn't want to cover up the woodgrain. The owl seemed to be a natural choice for my animal friend and I used the Cricut machine to cut the letters and circles. I added some jute twine by American Crafts for the final touch and I was done.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thinking of You Card

May is zooming on by! I hope you are taking some time to enjoy it. My Mourning Doves are sitting on their nest again, so it looks like we will have another set of chicks in a couple of weeks. I really enjoyed watching the last set of babies grow. It's amazing that they leave the nest in only a short two weeks.

Today, I have another sneak peek at the Gingham Garden designer series paper from Stampin' Up! It will be available May 31st. I made this Thinking of You Card for a cousin who is going through some medical issues. I used this weeks sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. The crochet mat is made by Jessi Fogan and it worked perfectly with this weeks sketch. I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits to create the butterflies and added a few basic pearls for detail. Well, I hope you're excited about the release of Stampin' Up!'s new catalog!!! Thanks for stopping by.

Masculine Congrats Card

Good afternoon! I have a quick post to share a card I made for my brother. He got a new job and I wanted to help celebrate by making him this Masculine Congrats Card. To create this card I used this weeks Freshly Made Sketch. I kept the design clean and simple. The star was cut using my Cricut machine and the basic gray neutral series dsp and chevron embossing folder are by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
